Marvel Legends Battle-Damaged Spider-Man (Magic: The Gathering)

I have been desperately waiting for an updated Battled-Damaged Spidey but have zero interest in Magic. Luckily, my brother is obsessed so he gets the card. The figure looks great, but in my head I was picturing a tear revealing his mouth. The hair poking out is a nice touch though.

Ultimate Universe: Two Years In (2025) 1

The Ultimate Guardians Of The Galaxy get the spotlight right before the lights go out. It really seems like plans were upended by the upcoming abrupt end of the Ultimate line. It's great to see Phoenix IX and Ultimate Nullifier again, but the absurd Ultimate Daredevil steals the show.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion on Nintendo Switch 2

A retro beat 'em up inspired by the Annihilation comic event. I have never felt more seen. The graphics and gameplay vastly improve over Shredder's Revenge with the ability to tag in a second hero, but the overall presentation falls short without Wu-Tang Clan on the soundtrack.

Godzilla Destroys The Marvel Universe (2025) 1-5

I loved this years one-shots, don't get me wrong, but what I really wanted was a crossover series as a modern follow-up to the '70s Marvel Godzilla comic. I am very happy to say this is (the first act of) the series that I've wanted for decades. Javier Garron's art is truly titanic.

Deadpool/Batman (2025) 1, Batman/Deadpool 1

These Marvel vs. DC crossovers are always dumb fun. This time the stakes are non-existent, so it's fully fuelled by character interactions with art from some of the industries top talent. The Marvel issue is a much better read, but the DC framing of the event is incredible, I love it.

Marvel Legends Deluxe Gargantos (Gamerverse)

This is absurdly awesome. He's massive with six bendy tentacles and a movable eye. I fear the bendiness won't age well though. I know Marvel lost the name Shuma-Gorath, but the inspiration Shub-Niggurath is public domain, so it should remain an homage to H.P. Lovecraft.

Marvel Zombies Season 1

This easily has the best action of the Marvel Animation projects. The problem is the subject demands heightened drama and the emotion falls flat outside the first episode. It's littered with genius small details that really flesh out the world between the incredibly epic set pieces.

Jonathan Hickman on Marvel Cosmic is a dream come true, so I feel bad saying I would have preferred an ongoing. Like GODS, the new direction is promising but it needed a shocking climax to truly mark the event. The powerful chaotic art adds welcomed anime flair to the action.
